A military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, told FAN what would happen if the Ukrainian authorities ordered a full-scale offensive in Donbass in the near future. Ukraine is determined to bring the region back under its control, but this requires increased military spending and there are simply no funds available.
Furthermore, the Americans and Europeans, despite their dislike for Russia, do not intend to sponsor Ukraine’s military program. Currently available assistance in the West is limited. In fact, it was limited to supplying Javelin missile systems and sniper rifles. Neither American nor European taxpayers intend to support the Ukrainian army.
However, it is impossible to completely exclude the option of a military operation against the DPR and the LPR. But in response, Russia will be ready to launch an operation to force Ukraine to peace. “The result of this operation will be that the new border between DPR and LPR will pass through the Dnieper,” Korotchenko said.
