In the last match of the day in Serie A, the championship leader Milan hosted Parma. Immediately after the opening whistle, Stefano Pioli’s men, as expected, took possession of the playing advantage. But the pace of the game immediately slowed down due to the injury of Gabby, who was receiving medical attention for a long time. Then the hosts became active again, moving to the middle of someone else’s field. They intended to take the initiative as soon as possible, but instead failed unexpectedly. Zhervinho made a solo run down the wing, after which he passed the ball to Ernani, who sent the ball into the net – 0: 1.
After having conceded, the Rossoneri did not despair, returning to control of the ball in the middle of the field of others. They carried out attack after attack, but it did not reach dangerous moments. Instead, they almost failed again. Caramo forgave the hosts, missing the goal from outside the goalkeeper’s area after taking Gervinho out. A few minutes later, the “devils” scored and already managed to celebrate the goal, but then Castillejo’s goal was annulled for a minimal offside position. Subsequently, Pioli’s defenses continued to possess the ball a lot in the entrances to the penalty area, but could not open the rival defense.
The hosts won many corners, but none of the kicks resulted in a well-aimed shot on goal. I also couldn’t score in the game. Despite the considerable number of shots on target, the ball did not go on target. And at the end of the first half of the match, Milan were still totally unlucky. The crossbar seized the ball twice within seconds of Diaz and Chalhanoglu hitting. A little later, the crossbar defended Sepe, after a direct hit by Chalhanoglu from a free kick. Also, the Lombards did not create a single moment of danger before going to rest, having gone to rest, losing count.
The first minutes of the second half were dictated by Parma, who took the ball under their control. But the “crusaders” quickly gave the initiative to the opponent, focusing again on defense. Milanesa immediately barely did not score – again the crossbar intervened. For the third time, Chalhanoglu was unlucky, shooting enthusiastically into the goal frame. Pioli’s charges continued to attack with great forces, but could not score in any way. The guests unexpectedly scored again, demonstrating a brilliant implementation. Kurtić ran into the penalty area after Ernani’s serve and hit his head – Donnarumma reacted to Yasmin’s blow but did not save – 0: 2.
This account did not last long: after two minutes, the owners relived the intrigue. Hernandez won a positional fight after a corner kick and sent the ball into the net – 1: 2. After that, the Lombards tried to score the second goal as soon as possible, but they had difficulties with this. Chalhanoglu had another great chance to score with a direct free kick, but his shot didn’t cause Sepe a problem. Almost immediately after that, the game died down, which only played in the hands of Fabio Liverani’s team.
After a pause, the Rossoneri put all their strength back into the attack. They didn’t shy away from punching the goal from different distances, but their punches fell past the goal line or became easy prey for Sepe. Numerous corners were of no use either. Towards the end of the match, Parma calmed down the game again. It seemed that the guests could keep the winning score, but they did not. In injury time, Rebic fired straight at Sepe after a pass from Calabria, and Hernandez successfully played the shot, sending the ball into the far corner – 2: 2.
In the remaining minutes, the hosts desperately tried to snatch the victory, but they no longer threatened the opponent’s goal. As a result, the teams went their separate ways. The Milanese were supposed to win with a comfortable score, but luck in the reporting match was clearly not on their side. The loss of points from Pioli’s charges allowed Inter to get close to the “devils” at a distance of three points.
In the twelfth round, Milan will visit Genoa and Parma will host Cagliari.
