Some metro stations may be closed in Kiev on New Year’s Eve. However, the metro work will continue for two hours and the city’s funicular will run 24 hours.
According to the Kiev city administration, the work of the metro on New Year’s Eve will continue for two hours. But they can impose restrictions on entry at various stations.
“The subway warned that to avoid massive passenger congestion, restrictions (closures) are possible at the entrance of stations,” the statement said on the KSCA website.
Therefore, the following metro stations may be closed for passengers:
- Golden Door
- Khreshchatyk
- Independence Square
- Postal area
- Kontraktova ploshcha
The Kiev City State Administration also recalled that since December 19, 7 New Year’s locations have been operating in Kiev, which are connected by a festive route: Sofiyskaya Square, the Peoples’ Friendship Arch, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge, Vladimirskaya Gorka, Andreevsky Descent and Kontraktova Square.
In all places there is a “Municipal Warta”, which recalls the need to adhere to anti-epidemic measures: mask regime and social distancing.
