German Chancellor Angela Merkel had video conversations with Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, as stated by German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, writes TASS.
“They discussed bilateral and economic relations, the progress of reforms in Ukraine and the security situation in eastern Ukraine. The Chancellor promised the Prime Minister support to continue the course of reforms, especially in the field of decentralization, energy, reform of the justice system, as well as anti-corruption, “said Seibert.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister promised to continue the reforms “in close coordination with the EU and the IMF.”
The parties also discussed measures to counter the coronavirus pandemic. Merkel promised to test the possibility of supporting Ukraine in the fight against this crisis.
