The WHO mentioned the possible reason for the appearance of COVID-19
Experts ruled out the version of the origin of COVID-19 as a result of a laboratory leak. However, they intend to continue investigating.
The new type of coronavirus could be transmitted from bats to humans through an unknown intermediate animal. Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Chinese scientists came to this conclusion, the Associated Press reports, citing an unpublished expert report.
The experts’ report says that experts have ruled out the origin version of COVID-19 as a result of a laboratory leak. However, they intend to continue investigating.
It is noted that the publication of the corresponding scientific report has been repeatedly postponed. The agency received a near-final version of the document on Monday, March 29, from a diplomat in Geneva.
Scientists have listed the main versions of the emergence of COVID-19, one of which is the transmission of the coronavirus from bats to humans through an intermediate animal. It is assumed that these could be lizards, cats or minks. At the same time, the experts considered an unlikely version of the direct transmission of the infection from bats to humans. In addition, experts noted that bats could leave the coronavirus in frozen food.
As previously reported, COVID-19 could start to spread due to the wildlife trade in China.
