Today, November 12, Krivoy Rog Mayor Yuriy Vilkul is undergoing hospital treatment at the Boris Todurov Heart Institute in Kiev.
This was reported by Ukraine 24 TV channel with reference to a source in Krivoy Rog.
This is the third time in the last month and a half that Vilkul has turned to cardiologists for help. Previously, he underwent serious heart surgery there. There are no details on the current status of the mayor of Krivoy Rog at this time.
On November 14, Yuri Vilkul will turn 71. In 2006 he was elected a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council and, at the first session, its president. The Dnepropetrovsk Regional Council that Vilkul headed from September 2006 to June 2010. From November 2010 to the present: Mayor of Kryvyi Rih.
In 2011 he was the winner of the regional contest “Dnieper’s Person of the Year – 2011” in the nomination “Town Mayor of the Year”, in 2012, 2013, 2014 – the winner of the regional contest among officials of local government bodies in the nomination “The best mayor of cities of regional importance with regional division”.
According to the preliminary results of the October 25 vote, the second round of the local elections will take place in Krivoy Rog. A date has yet to be set due to ongoing court hearings on Election Day on October 25.
