National Guard Vitaly Markiv commented on his release from an Italian prison and appreciated the support.
In Italy, after being acquitted by the Milan court of appeal, the National Guard Vitaly Markiv was released from prison. Markiv’s appeal was posted on Arsen Avakov’s Facebook page.
“The truth wins. I am infinitely happy and grateful. I am overwhelmed by emotions. I did not expect, but the main thing is to believe,” said Markiv.
Vitaly Markiv was not present at the hearing due to the quarantine measures. He participated in the online trial from jail.
Recall, the soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine Vitaly Markiv was acquitted by the court of appeal of the Italian city of Milan.
As reported, an Italian court sentenced Markiv to 24 years in prison for the alleged murder of Italian journalist Andrea Rochelli in Donbas in the spring of 2014.
