The tanker General Azi Aslanov caught fire at the entrance to the Kerch Strait in the Sea of ​​Azov, after which two explosions occurred due to oil fumes and the ship tipped over. It is known that there were 13 people on board.

This was reported by RIA Novosti on Telegram with reference to the local branch of the Ministry of Emergencies and Rosmorrechflot.

Initially, it was reported that six people were rescued, three more jumped overboard at the time of an explosion in the petroleum products compartment. Then it was learned that a ship passed and rescued 10 crew members of “General Azi Aslanov”, the fate of three more is still unknown.

Subsequently, the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport did not rule out that a tanker truck that tilted after the explosion could sink.

The tanker “General Hazi Aslanov” in the Sea of ​​Azov received serious damage, but still afloat, the balance is 7-10 degrees, but it is not clear if it is increasing, Rosmorrechflot reported. The size of the hole is also unclear.

Let us remind you that the water poisoning near Khalaktyrsky Beach in Kamchatka could have occurred due to an oil leak from a commercial ship. At the moment, the leakage of petroleum products has been eliminated, but ownership of the tanker has not yet been established.
