Turkey announced new quarantine restrictions due to rising number of infections
Turkey’s Interior Ministry has tightened the quarantine due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 infected in the country.
The Turkish authorities have decided on the mandatory use of protective masks in all public places. This was reported on Tuesday, September 8, on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the republic.
“This decision was made due to non-compliance with the measures previously adopted, especially in respect of social distance. As a result, the spread of the coronavirus has increased, ”the ministry said.
The directive sent by the Turkish Ministry of the Interior to the provincial governors states that residents of all regions of the country, without exception, must wear masks in public places, on the streets, in transportation, in parks, gardens, beaches and work places. Wearing a mask only where a person permanently resides is not allowed. The absence of a mask will be fined.
The document emphasizes that the regime will operate without exception in all public places in 81 provinces without exception.
In addition, in Turkey, a ban on concerts and performances by musical groups is introduced. The ban will apply not only to bars, restaurants and clubs, but also to hotels.
According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 281 thousand people have been infected with coronavirus in Turkey, 6.7 thousand have died.
