The quarantine was introduced in Madrid due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. Mass gatherings in the city will be limited to six people and bar attendance will be reduced by 50%.

The Spanish government has announced an alarm in Madrid for 15 days, during which it will restore the quarantine throughout the city. The Spanish newspaper El País writes about it.

The Spanish authorities took this step after the court recognized the restrictions on movement imposed in the Community of Madrid as illegal and annulled them. Now the residents of the Spanish capital will be able to meet in groups of up to six people. The bars will be able to work until 11:00 pm with an admissible attendance of 50%.

The quarantine is also being implemented in eight cities of the Community of Madrid, namely Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Leganés, Mostoles, Parla and Torrejón de Ardoz.

Up to 7,000 police officers will monitor compliance with quarantine and fines for violators, the newspaper writes. The Spanish Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, believes that 15 days of quarantine will be enough for the country.
