Ukraine has found the opportunity to meet the manufacturer’s requirements on low temperatures during storage and transportation of the coronavirus vaccine.

This was announced by the Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko on the air of Ukraine 24 channel. He clarified that previously, in immunoprophylaxis, a temperature of -80 degrees was never used.

“We have set up national warehouses, which are in the Ministry of Health, where we really do not have the conditions to store this type of vaccines or medicines at a temperature of -80 degrees,” he said.

According to Lyashko, at the moment Ukraine has received several commercial offers from private logistics pharmaceutical companies.

“And in our country, in domestic warehouses, there is the possibility of storage, logistics, transportation to vaccine vaccination points and at a storage temperature of -80 degrees,” he said.

Earlier, the top infectious disease specialist at the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, Olga Golubovskaya, said that Ukraine is in the same position as African countries regarding the timing of receiving a coronavirus vaccine. According to her, “none of us was going to make a civilized European country.”

“We, as sub-Saharan African countries, will be in exactly the same position until state policy changes,” he said.

As OBOZREVATEL wrote, Ukraine can receive a vaccine produced by the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca in cooperation with the University of Oxford to immunize the population against COVID-19.

This assumption was expressed by Igor Kuzin, Director General of the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. According to him, this forecast is based on the production capacities of the pharmaceutical company and the capacities of our country.
