Slovakia and Lithuania did not recognize Alexander Lukashenko as the official president of Belarus. The inauguration in the countries was described as illegitimate.
This was announced by the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia and Lithuania Ivan Korchok and Linas Linkevichus on Twitter.
According to Korchok, Lukashenko has no legitimacy to rule Belarus.
“He is responsible for the presidential elections in Belarus, which were neither free nor fair. Slovakia supports the citizens of Belarus,” Korchok wrote.

Linkevichus, in turn, said that Lukashenka did not cease to be the former president in connection with the inauguration.
“What a sham. Fake elections. Fake inauguration. The former president of Belarus has not become any less old. On the contrary. His illegality is a fact with all the consequences,” wrote the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Let us remind you that Lukashenka was inaugurated today in Minsk. At the same time, it was not announced in advance. During the inauguration, Lukashenka said that in Belarus there had not been a “color revolution”.
As a result, spontaneous protest actions began in Minsk. People started organizing solidarity chains. Students joined the protests. At 18:00, a massive concentration of protesters is expected in the central squares of Belarusian cities.
