As of November 1, all Foreign citizens are prohibited from crossing the state border of Belarus.… Now Alexander Lukashenko has banned Belarusians returning from other countries from entering the country. This decision is supposedly related to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the press service of the President of Belarus, Lukashenko told a meeting on November 5 about measures taken to counter the spread of viral infections that he had given an appropriate order to the commander of the border troops.
Lukashenka assured that there is no politics here, the solution is temporary. According to him, “they could not leave our borders open to enter the country, especially since our peak has not been exceeded.”
“All states use these methods. If we say that our state borders are closed to those who try to enter us from outside our country, well of course from the West, we have no borders with Russia. Because we are seeing a huge outbreak of disease, especially in neighboring Poland.“, – said Lukashenko.
He added that no one will be forcibly held in Belarus, but “you have to understand: if you leave, you will not come back.”
“I gave an order to the commander of the border troops not to let not only people with foreign passports enter the country, but also the “smart” Belarusians who left our country at this difficult time. We do not need to carry the infection and it does not matter with what passport. Let’s go there to study, let them study, to work, let them work. We do not interfere with this. So let them work and heal“, – said Lukashenko.
As reported by “Apostrophe”, on November 4, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which he expressed his desire to buy an oil field on the territory of the Russian Federation.
