The Bosnia and Herzegovina prosecutor’s office opened a case after the head of the country’s presidium, Milorad Dodik, presented Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a golden icon. It turned out that this icon was taken from the Ukrainian Lugansk.

The local website avaz.ba writes about this.

Foreign Minister Bissera Turkovich is reported to have submitted a request to the prosecutor’s office after receiving a note from the Ukrainian embassy. At the moment, controls are being carried out.

The publication writes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sent requests to law enforcement agencies to investigate all the accusations that the Ukrainian side says.

Today there are suspicions that the icon was taken from occupied Lugansk, which has been under Russian control since 2014.

We will recall, previously, that the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleg Nikolenko, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, said that Sarajevo requires clarification of how the icon ended up in this country and what circumstances motivated it to present it to the Russian minister.

The golden icon is about 300 years old, it was taken from Lugansk and the seal indicates that it is the property of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
