The match at NSC Olimpiyskiy between Dynamo Kiev and Desna Chernihiv became not only the first in the UPL championship after a hiatus for national team matches, but also the center-back in the second round. For the home team, it was the last test before the start of the Champions League qualifying, but they need to win on all fronts, and the staffing situation makes life difficult for Mircea Lucescu’s team.

Burda in a recent bout with Kolos suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and was eliminated for six months, so Mister had to experiment and free the nominal full-backs: Kendzer and Mikolenko in the center of defense. Tsigankov also returned to the starting lineup, on the right in attack, replacing Gerson Rodrigues.

It seemed like the guests were unlucky, but by the end of the half, luck was already on their side.

In the 35th minute, 18-year-old defender Ilya Zabarny made his Dynamo debut. But it happened after force majeure: Alexander Tymchik was injured and could not continue the game.

5 minutes before the end of the first half of the game, “Dynamo” began to storm Pasta’s door. First, Kendzer hit the post with his head. A minute later, Mostovoy was about to cut the ball into his own net after a Tsygankov free kick, but Desna’s goalkeeper fell back. And in the next episode, after a cross from a corner, De Penet managed an incredible one-touch shot from outside the area, and only the crossbar prevented the Uruguayan from opening the scoring with a masterpiece goal.

Dynamo had the next chance to score in the 60th minute. Tsygankov burst into the opponent’s penalty area, famously shot from the corner, but Past showed a brilliant reaction and struck back. Kievans continued the attack, followed by a canopy in the penalty area, and Buyalsky hit his head next to his own goal post.

Dynamo controlled the game, but time passed, and the boring 0: 0 continued to shine on the scoreboard. A draw result clearly fitted with Desna, who was trying more not to concede than to score. At the end of the game, the “Northerners” and at every opportunity were playing to buy time, playing the rebound, simply taking the ball away from their penalty area. And this tactic brought the desired result: Ryabokon’s team won a precious point from Chernihiv.

For Mircea Lucescu, this is the first loss of points as a Dynamo coach. Kievans could not face the game with the Dutch AZ in a good mood. Now it is necessary to have time to recover, because there will be no second leg at this stage of qualification, there is simply no margin for error.
