Former People’s Deputy Viktor Lozinsky, who was sentenced to 15 years for murder, won the elections for the post of head of the united territorial community. They took place near the crime scene.
This is reported by the BBC, citing a source in the local territorial community.
“Viktor Aleksandrovich Lozinsky confidently won the elections for the post of head of the Podvysotsk UTO of the Golovanevsky district of the Krirovohrad region,” they said.
In addition, the electoral commission said that the registration of protocols is underway. However, Lozinsky’s opponents have already confirmed his victory.
We will recall, in 2009 in the Golovanevsky area there was a high-profile murder, which was charged with Lozinsky. Not far from the village of Golovanevsk, where the people’s deputy rested with the local prosecutor and the chief of police, the hunter Valery Oliynyk was killed during the “entertainment”.
As a result of the investigative actions, it was established that the man died as a result of a shotgun blast. It was at this time that the name of the popular deputy appeared in the case. Despite the fact that the people’s deputy rushed to help Yulia Tymoshenko, Lozinsky had to resign from his mandate, as a result of which he lost his immunity.
Lozinsky was first charged with first-degree murder in this case in 2009 and only in April 2011 was he sentenced to 15 years in prison. He did not plead guilty and was supposed to be released in 2025.
However, Lozinsky was released “for health reasons” already in 2014. However, the Attorney General’s Office refused to “turn a blind eye” to the actions of his colleagues, so the former People’s deputy was returned to prison.
The second time he was released already in 2016, thanks to the Savchenko law.
As reported by “Strana”, in May 2019, the court prematurely expunged the criminal record of former People’s Deputy Viktor Lozinsky, who was found guilty of participating in the murder of a resident of the Kirovograd region, Valery Oliynyk.
