The UK government hopes to avoid a general lockdown. Local adjustment should help in this.
This was announced by Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
He noted that it was precisely to avoid a national blockade that the fourth level of restrictions was introduced.
“A national lockdown is not inevitable. To prevent it and stop the spread of a new type of coronavirus, we have introduced severe restrictions in the fourth tier regions,” Hancock said.
We will recall, as of today in London and in two counties in the southeast of England, Essex and Kent, there is a fourth level of quarantine. They provide for the prohibition of entry and exit from the regions, the cancellation of several days of the planned easing of the quarantine, the closure of stores and non-essential services.
The restrictions imposed in the regions of Great Britain are related to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, as well as a new type of coronavirus that is spreading more rapidly. It is spreading 70% faster and it is not yet known how the Pfizer vaccine, which is already being vaccinated in Britain and several other countries around the world, copes with it.
In connection with the spread of a new type of virus, several European countries have already banned air and passenger traffic with Great Britain.
