The decision of the Minsk official in Vilnius was considered a violation of bilateral agreements
The note asks for an explanation of the violation of the bilateral agreement and to ensure that such violations are not repeated.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent on Friday, October 30, a note of protest to the Belarusian Embassy over the decision of the Minsk official to close the passage through its state border. This was reported by the publication Evropeyskaya Pravda with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
“On Thursday afternoon, Belarus unilaterally closed the border with Lithuania without informing Lithuania about it and in violation of the procedures stipulated by the bilateral agreement,” the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.
The note asks for an explanation of this violation of the bilateral agreement and to ensure that such violations are not repeated, the message says.
Let us remind you that Lithuania previously blocked the allocation of funds to Belarus under the EU program on cross-border cooperation.
