Large-scale fires in the Lugansk region, villages are being evacuated

Firefighters put out fires of dry grass and forest floor in three districts of the region. Residents are being evacuated in two villages.

In the Lugansk region, rescuers are extinguishing fires near the villages of Tryokhizbenka, Kryakovka, Muratovo, Kapitanovoye, Novoaydarsky district, as well as between the villages of Polovinkino and Baidovka, Starobelsky district, where a fire occurred on Wednesday 30 September. fire in dry grass and forest floor, according to the State Emergency Service.

It is noted that as of 4:50 pm, on the territory of the Lugansk region, the main efforts to extinguish forest fires are concentrated in the Novoaydarsky, Starobelsky and Stanichno-Luhansky districts, where, due to strong gusts of wind, the fire spread, in particular: a forest fire. in a total area of ​​about 50 hectares near the villages of Kryakovka and Trehizbenka, Novoaydarsky district. Previously, there were no casualties or injuries.

Due to the boiling wind, the forest fire spread to the territory of the village of Muratovo, Novoaydarsky district. There is no information on the victims and the injured. The evacuation of the population from the villages of Muratovo and Kapitanovo is under way. Information is being specified.

In addition, forest fires continue in a total area of ​​approximately 10 hectares in the area of ​​the Malinovoye, Peschanoe and Artem villages of the Stanichno-Luhansk region and in a total area of ​​approximately 8 hectares between the Polovinkino and Baidovka villages of the Starobelsk region. Previously, there were no casualties or injuries. There is a threat that the fire will spread to populated areas.

The number of buildings and structures damaged by the fire is being specified.

In total, 192 people and 44 teams participated in the extinction of forest fires in three districts, of which 107 people belonged to the State Emergency Service. a / c. and 22 teams.

It is observed that the extinguishing of fires is complicated by a strong gusty wind with a speed of more than 20 m / s, so there is also the threat of further spread of forest fires.
