Sooronbai Jeenbekov also proposes to fire the prime minister and members of the government who worked before the crisis.

Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said he was ready to resign as soon as the situation in the country returned to normal. This is stated in a statement issued by its press service on Friday, October 8, reports Interfax.

Jeenbekov noted that the political situation in the country has reached a critical point.

“To resolve the current situation, we must take the following measures. The results of the parliamentary elections have been canceled. Now new parliamentary elections must be scheduled. The CEC will make a decision on this. These measures will reduce the current political tension,” Jeenbekov said.

He believes it is also necessary to remove the prime minister and members of the government who worked before the crisis, which will create a legal basis for new appointments.

“Dear compatriots, as I said before, I intend to legitimize the personnel changes that are taking place, for me no position exceeds the integrity of the State, the unity of the people and the tranquility of society. The heads of the executive authorities and the country will take the path of legality, ready to resign as president of Kyrgyzstan, “Jeenbekov said.

He called on all political forces to maintain peace and tranquility in the country, not to divide the people and not to divide society.

We will remember, on the eve of the Kyrgyz Security Council announcing the disappearance of the country’s president, Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

As reported, on the night of October 5, mass protests began in the Kyrgyz capital due to disagreement with the results of the last parliamentary elections. The protesters seized a series of administrative buildings and released several former senior politicians in the country from the remand center.

On the morning of October 6, the country’s CEC announced that it did not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections. The re-election date is slated to be announced in the next two weeks.
