Ukraine’s path to NATO membership should be clearly defined in direction, tools and deadline, said the head of the Foreign Ministry.

Ukraine should not be considered a cult of giving Ukraine an Action Plan for Membership (MAP) in NATO, because Kiev’s goal is membership in the Alliance, which can be achieved without this plan. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, during the online conference “The Road to Warsaw Security Forum”. On Tuesday, November 17, Ukrinform reported.

“Ukraine’s position is simple: if the MAP is something that will further simplify our path to membership, Ukraine and Georgia will get it. But if the allies decide that we can achieve the same result in a certain period of time without the MAP, then this can argue, “Kuleba said.

He stressed that the MAP should not be considered a cult, but Ukraine’s path towards NATO in direction, tools and deadlines should be clearly outlined.

“This is very important. Otherwise, we will wander through space, doing something that will not bring us closer to our goal,” summed up the Ukrainian minister.

Earlier, the US ambassador mentioned the main problems on Ukraine’s path to NATO. So, in his opinion, on Ukraine’s path to NATO, the main problems are Russian aggression in Donbass and Crimea, as well as internal corruption.

It was also reported that Zelenskiy sees NATO as an opportunity to save Ukraine. Ukraine’s membership in NATO is necessary to ensure security in the region, the president said.
