The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, Leonid Kravchuk, demanded that Russia take responsibility for implementation of the agreements reached at the Normandy Summit Four in Paris.

This was reported in the Telegram of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG after the negotiations in videoconference format, which took place on December 16. We are talking about release of detainees, unlock checkpoint work, access to occupied territories by observersand breeding and demining.

“Leonid Kravchuk fundamentally demands that the Russian side, as a member of the TCG, assume political responsibility and formally define its position on the need to comply with the agreements reached at the highest level in Paris,” he said.

Kravchuk stressed that the position of the leaders of the Normandy format countries is the main index and will allow you to work effectively within the TCG.

Thus the Ukrainian side insists on the implementation of such measures:

  • unhindered access by the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international humanitarian organizations to detainees,

  • release of detained persons,

  • Russian unblocking of the checkpoint operation.

  • finalization of the agreement on nineteen demining sites,

  • finalization of the agreement on four new hatcheries,

  • ensure free and unhindered access of the OSCE SMM to the entire territory of Ukraine.

In turn, the representative of the Ukrainian delegation Sergei Garmash said that Russia continues to disrupt the prisoner swap, citing the need for procedural cleanup of nine long-released people… He explained that there is no legal possibility for this, because their consent does not exist and the whereabouts of these people are unknown.

About Checkpoint “Happiness” the delegation of Ukraine highlighted that Russia has no formal reason to block it – The Council of Ministers will comply with all technical conditions (turning point of the bus).

This was also confirmed by the coordinator of the humanitarian subgroup, Tony Frisch.

The TCG meeting was held at the level of heads of delegation, however The representative of the President of Russia, Boris Gryzlov, was absent..
