Kozak’s media holding company bought a new channel after sanctions

Former employees of television channels ZIK, NewsOne and 112 Ukraine, who were under sanctions as a result of the relevant NSDC decision, are creating a new channel based on the regional channel of Lviv First Independent.

According to Detector Media, the launch is scheduled for April 2021. According to data from the Unified State Register, on February 24, the owner of the First Independent was changed: it was Mediaholding Novosti LLC. The organization was founded on February 18, 2021 by 100 channel workers of the OLE leader, Viktor Medvedchuk, against whom sanctions were also imposed. The authorized capital of the company was 100 UAH.

From its own sources, the publication received advertising designs for a new channel with the participation of employees of the Novosti holding company, whose channels stopped broadcasting due to sanctions, presenters Anastasia Dainod and Nadezhda Sass.

At the same time, Roman Lyubitsky, founder and director of Time Media LLC, owner of First Independent, did not confirm or deny the information about the creation of a new information channel with the participation of former employees of the media holding Taras. Kozak, but specified that for more than a year I was looking for buyers for my channel.

It is also characteristic that Lyubitsky was the director of the television channel ZIK before its transfer to the ownership of Taras Kozak.

In addition, according to media reports, the launch of the new channel will be led by television producer Aleksey Semyonov, who previously on several occasions was the producer of 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, Direct Channel, and later led the Novosti media holding company created by Kozak. .

Let us remember that before the intention of the management of the Novosti media holding to create a new television channel was known. The corresponding document was made available to the media. Its founders were supposed to be “the widest possible circle of journalists” of ZIK, NewsOne and 112 closed.

We also note that in a poll conducted by OBOZREVATEL, the majority of Ukrainians supported blocking the broadcast of Medvedchuk TV channels. Although there were those who believe that such a decision is a violation of freedom of expression in Ukraine. Respondents who supported the sanctions said there was “a lot of manipulation” on the indicated television channels.
