Russia said “not everything can be discussed in a teleconference format”

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Kozak, arrived in Berlin to negotiate on Ukraine. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian media.

The curator of the Ukrainian leadership in the Kremlin is reported to have arrived in Berlin. According to informed sources, his visit is related to solving the situation in the Donbass.

“He is in Berlin. The purpose of the visit is most likely related to the negotiations on Ukraine. Kozak is a key negotiator on Ukraine, not everything can be discussed in a conference call,” the source added.

Another RIA Novosti source confirmed that Kozak arrived on a one-day working visit at the invitation of Germany to negotiate a deal in the Donbass and establish personal contact with German Chancellor’s assistant Angela Merkel.

We will recall, previously, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba said that contacts between the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Kozak allow us to seek solutions for a peaceful agreement in the Donbass. In particular, thanks to these contacts, the last prisoner exchanges were carried out.

Please note that Ukraine is preparing to appear at the next Contact Group meeting in an expanded format and invites Russia to take a reciprocal step. Perhaps Kozak’s visit to Berlin is related to the latest initiatives on the Ukrainian side, as they were supported by Western partners.
