It should be noted that Kovalenko’s signing is a personal initiative of the Bergama club’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini. The Italian press does not rule out that this transfer could take place this winter.

Furthermore, Bruno Andrade confirmed the interest previously reported by Benfica’s Ukrainian midfielder, but the Portuguese club was too late to get involved in the fight to sign the player.

This season Viktor Kovalenko played 11 games with the Shakhtar shirt in all tournaments, in which he scored 4 goals. Portal Transfermarkt estimates the Ukrainian player at 4.5 million euros.
