Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a new head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration. Anna Kovalenko became her.
He stated this in a briefing during a business trip to the Chernihiv region.
Zelensky noted that Kovalenko will be the only woman in the country leading the region.
“I am pleased to introduce the new head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration,” he said.
At the end of September, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to approve the candidacy of Anna Kovalenko for the post of head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
Anna Kovalenko was an advisor to the former Minister of Information Policy and Defense Ministers.
In September 2019, Kovalenko became deputy head of the president’s office. Then the parliament prematurely terminated the powers of the people’s deputy Anna Kovalenko in connection with the appointment to the post.
In April, Zelenskiy fired Kovalenko as deputy director of the Office of the President. Kovalenko herself became Deputy Minister of Community and Territory Development.
Previously, the government approved the removal of the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, Andriy Prokopenko, from this position.
