The only way to increase the salaries of civil servants is by cutting, said the head of the Servant of the People.
To increase the salaries of civil servants, their number will have to be reduced, says the head of the Servant of the People party Alexander Kornienko, writes Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday, November 18.
“We understand that there is no other way, perhaps this is not a very popular idea now, but to increase the wage bill, sooner or later we will have to cut officials,” he said.
The popular deputy pointed out that alternative compensators should be sought for the dismissed employees.
“For example, service in local self-government bodies. Yesterday, in the bill N ° 3651 for the creation of the autonomous state administrations, we proposed a reform that allows those employees who in the autonomous administrations during their reorganization are dismissed without competition for the same positions, with the same qualifications, to find a I work to serve in local government bodies “, – said Kornienko.
He clarified that around 12-13 thousand employees are being laid off there and around 60% can immediately go to work in local governments.
It was previously reported that the Ministry of Economy offers the Cabinet of Ministers to increase the salaries of state employees by about a third.
