European honeymoon month “Kolos”, which brought romantic trips to Greece and Croatia, is over. The gray days of the championship have begun, in which you must gnaw your right to feel again the emotions of international competitions. Considering how Kovalivtsy flew out of the Europa League (120 minutes of fighting with an opponent, the field and the weather), Ruslan Kostyshin had no choice but to use a massive rotation.
Three players were left from the starting lineup of the match in Rijeka: goalkeeper Volynets, as well as defenders Novak and Kravchenko. At the same time, Kostyshin moved away from the scheme with three center-backs, returning to the 4-2-3-1 tactic. Maksimenko came out next to Novak, on the left: Chernomorets, Milko and Orihovsky were located in the center of the field, Denis Kostyshin acted under the command of Yevgeny Seleznev and on the flanks of the midfield: Morozko and Ilyin.
Sergei Lavrinenko had no need to change anything: in the previous round, Ingulets fought Desna and won a point. However, Petrovtsy’s coach instead of Krynsky put Shust in goal, and Kozak replaced Generous on the side of midfield. The rest of the positions repeated the variant of a week ago: a line formed by Balan, Pavlov, Kovalev, Sinegub operated in defense. Kucherenko, Lupashko and Kovalenko formed a triangle in midfield, Zaporozhets covered the flank opposite Kozak (right), and the spectacular Sitchinava performed on the edge.
The start of the match was encouraging. Already in the second minute, Seleznev closed the discount of his partner in the corner of the goalkeeper, but did not get into the frame. However, this was a hoax. If a week ago in the game with “Rukh” “Kolos” really managed to win a landslide victory as a reserve, then “Ingulets” was ready for the activity of an opponent. Lavrinenko’s charges didn’t leave the owners spacious, which, of course, couldn’t help but affect their counterplay. If the Petrivtsi attacked, it was with small forces, so there was not much work in defending Kolos. As a result, in the first 45 minutes, Ilyin’s shot from a very acute angle can still be remembered: Shust was in place and Kozak’s forward with the right flank, Volynets played similarly. At the same time, both moments in the case of a more entertaining football would hardly be dangerous. And, of course, one cannot help but notice Seleznev, who all the time said something to the referee, partners, opponent – he did his best to draw attention to himself.
The star forward could still become the protagonist of the match with one more mark, if in the 67th minute he scored from outside the area after a pass from Antyukh, who entered as a substitute. However, Evgeny did not turn the ball under the far post and, after five minutes, gave way to Lysenko’s field. Vladimir, in turn, struck much more dangerous – the striker threw a blow from the penalty area line, but it went in the middle, so Shust transferred to the corner. However, this blow was only a response to the attack by Ingulets, which was supposed to open the scoring in 77th place. Zaporozhets, in a counterattack, dragged the ball into the penalty area, gave it to Generous and received a pass in answer already on the goalkeeper’s line, but Evgeniy apparently made too much effort, so he fired from several meters over the crossbar.
Actually, the last 15 minutes illuminated the big picture at least a little: the game went on a collision course, there were shots on goal. The only problem: other than those mentioned above, they didn’t pose a threat to the door. As a result, the final whistle registered a dry draw. Ruslan Kostyshin failed to win the championship match for the second time not with the main team, but there is an explanation for this: “Ingulets” once again demonstrated his ability to build an effective team defense.
