The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, has contracted the coronavirus. Klitschko received a positive test result for COVID-19 on Saturday, October 24.
The mayor of the capital wrote about this on Telegram.
Klitschko noted that it feels good. At the same time, the mayor will go into self-isolation and continue to work from home.
“Friends. The coronavirus appeared at the most inopportune time. I received a positive test result today. I tried to be careful. Given the details of my work, I tested regularly. Today, unfortunately, it is disappointing,” Klitschko wrote.
The mayor of Kiev urged citizens not to neglect quarantine rules and not to ignore the threat.
Recall that 7,014 people fell ill with coronavirus in Ukraine per day. Most of the new cases are found in the Kiev, Kharkov, Zhytomyr and Lviv regions.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Kharkiv Mayor Gennady Kernes is still receiving treatment at a German clinic for the coronavirus. In the article “Battle for Kharkiv: Will the coronavirus prevent Kernes’s victory?” It was reported that if the current mayor of Kharkiv wins, he must submit an application for registration as its mayor within 20 days.
