The mayor of Kiev said he passed a positive test for COVID-19.
Legendary former Ukrainian boxer Vitali Klitschko, who is now the mayor of Kiev, fell ill with coronavirus.
As the politician said on his social networks, he tested positive for COVID-19. Constant communication with people as mayor is a risk, he said, and it was his job that led to the infection. Klitschko also noted that he feels good and will soon be working from home, where he will be isolated.
“The mayor’s robot during a pandemic, of course, foresees constant risk. Communicating with people, monitoring hospitals. In particular, I regularly visited infectious disease departments where COVID-19 patients are treated. I tried to take care of myself. Given the specifics of the job, I tested regularly, today unfortunately – disappointing.
I feel good. But I have to go into self-isolation. I will work from home. Please don’t ignore the rules and don’t ignore the threat. Take care, “Klitschko wrote in Instagram.
