UAF President Andrey Pavelko confirmed the decision that the matches of the national team, the Champions League and the Europa League in Ukraine be played with spectators.
“The fans return to the stands at international matches. The matches of the Ukrainian team against Germany and Spain at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, as well as other matches of the League of Nations, can be visited by spectators. The Champions League and Europa League fights will also take place with spectators.
The corresponding decision was made today together with colleagues from the UEFA Executive Committee. The sale of up to 30% of the tickets of the total number of seats in the stadium is allowed. A very important decision by UEFA, which gives us all incredible football emotions and the opportunity to support our national team and our clubs in European competitions.
This is what millions of Ukrainian fans have been dreaming of for six months. To make this dream come true, the UAF team made an incredible effort. All these six months, together with the Ministry of Health and personally with Minister Maxim Stepanov, we have been working continuously, working on medical protocol and we have managed to return the fans to the UPL playoffs in the middle of summer. Later we got permission to host international matches with spectators in Ukraine.
In parallel, continuous and meticulous work was carried out at UEFA, in particular we discussed the issue of the return of spectators to the stands with colleagues from the UEFA Executive Committee, which took place recently in Budapest. And here is a logical and very important decision! I congratulate our fans and all of Ukrainian football on this victory! “
According to the results of the Champions League draw, Dynamo Kiev will play in Group G against Juventus with Cristiano Ronaldo, Barcelona with Lionel Messi and Ferencvaros under the leadership of Sergei Rebrov.
