The head of the Kiev delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, predicted the unfolding of a large-scale conflict in Donbass, in connection with which he called for the participation of the United States in the negotiations. He said this on the air of TV channel Ukraine 24, reports RIA Novosti.

According to Kravchuk, the conflict in Donbass is not just a Ukrainian or even a European problem. “This is a question of a possible large-scale conflict if Russia does not stop its appetites,” he said.

Earlier on March 13, Ukraine’s National Security Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov called out rumors and misinformation information that Kiev was going on the offensive in Donbass. He blamed Russia for its spread. According to him, Moscow is carrying out a psychological attack on the residents of certain areas of Donbass that are not controlled by Kiev.

Relations between Kiev and Moscow deteriorated dramatically after the reunification of Crimea with Russia in March 2014 and the outbreak of conflict in Donbass in April of the same year. Part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions declared their independence. Kiev tried to return them by force, but to no avail. Ukraine accuses Russia of armed aggression and occupation of Crimea and the Donbass regions. Moscow does not consider itself a party to the conflict and rejects the claims.
