“Strategy for the unemployment of Crimea and Sevastopol”, the consolidation of the efforts of all partners and synergy are “three pillars” of policy, thanks to which Kiev hopes to return Crimea. About this in Twitter written by the country’s Foreign Minister, Dmitry Kuleba.
The first of these is a document that was previously approved by the National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine (NSDC). “A clear signal: we are not only calling on the world to help return Crimea, Ukraine itself is seriously and systematically engaged in this,” said the head of the department.
The second point is consolidation. Therefore, Kiev is working to unite the efforts of allied countries on the basis of the international platform “Crimean Platform”, scheduled for August 23. There Kiev wants to discuss the issue of the return of the peninsula. Ukraine has offered to join the platform in several states, including Turkey, France, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, and the United States.
The third Kuleba mentioned synergy. “Restoration of international law and, as a result, restoration of full sovereignty of Ukraine over Crimea and the city of Sevastopol,” explained the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 after a referendum in which a majority of the region’s residents who voted supported such a decision. Ukraine, the EU countries and the United States refused to recognize the results of the vote, calling the reunification of the peninsula with mainland Russia an annexation. The Russian authorities reject these accusations and insist that the accession procedure was in accordance with international law.
