The Kharkiv mayor’s first deputy, Igor Terekhov, said the city will not stop transportation and will not close markets and grocery stores, despite the city’s classification in the “red zone”. The chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kucher called for the position of manipulation of the city: he insisted that transport should not be stopped and restricted, but not banned from trade work, he insisted.

“I responsibly declare the following: The transport will operate at full volume, as it did, the city authorities will not stop the subway, the ground electric transport, the road taxis … I am also sure that in this economic situation we do not have right to close markets, grocery stores, shopping and entertainment centers (except entertainment areas), catering establishments, trade and consumer services “, – said at the appeal of the first deputy of the mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov.

On the topic: Schools, kindergartens, transportation – what will change in Kharkov, which entered the red zone.

According to “Suspilnya”, KHOGA President Aleksey Kucher has repeatedly claimed that transportation is the main place for the spread of coronavirus infection, and now says that he has accomplished transportation work in the “red zone”. All transportation will operate as usual: urban (land, underground), suburban, interurban. Rail and air services are not canceled.

“Something was reported, things so manipulative that we are stopping transportation, but the city says we will not stop. The question of stopping or not stopping transportation was discussed today personally by me, and I defended my position, given the dynamics that exist – and We are not among the leaders when it comes to the number of the sick population, “Kucher said.

According to him, the incidence rate in Kharkov is 398.75 per 100,000 inhabitants (the “red zone” is established if the incidence rate for 14 days is higher than 320 per 100,000 inhabitants).

“Most of the infections are spread on public transport, at the same time that it is associated with city life. And then when we stopped transport, it affected the economy quite strongly. Until now we cannot allow this, and given the number of cases per 100,000 residents, we can afford it, “said Kucher.

“I am very disappointed that the first deputy mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, was not at the meeting, even though we called him. If he was there and participated in this discussion, he probably would not have written what he writes.” does not close markets, grocery stores, nobody does this. On the contrary, I defended the position that has now been taken. And I thank the members of the state commission, who treated with understanding what is happening in Kharkov and the Kharkov region, “said Kucher.

He also noted that the decision could be reviewed in a week.

“If we continue to advance in such a negative direction … Today, the state commission allowed us to leave transportation. Separately, Minister Stepanov emphasized that if we increase the negative dynamics, then in a week we will review this issue,” said the president of RSA.

As reported in Kharkiv City Council, the City Emergency Situations Commission will consider quarantine restrictions for Kharkiv on October 16.
