SBU conducted searches of state power buildings

Investigative actions were carried out on the premises of the Verkhovna Rada, the National Security and Defense Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers.

The SBU agents carried out searches in the administrative buildings of the authorities, who participated in the preparation and ratification of the so-called Kharkiv agreements. This was announced on Tuesday, March 16, by the department’s press service.

It is highlighted that one hundred investigative actions were carried out in:

  • The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in particular its committees;

  • The Main Directorate of Scientists and Experts of the Verkhovna Rada;

  • The National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine;

  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;

  • The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine together with the State Bureau of Investigation.

During the raids, documents were found indicating that the then State leadership, prior to the signing and adoption of these documents, was aware of their consequences. In particular, about an increase in the number of personnel of military formations and special services of the Russian Federation, subsequently participated in the annexation of Crimea and damage to economic interests “, – said in the message.

The Attorney General’s Office reported that the raids were carried out as part of the investigation of the criminal process on the facts of the high treason commission by the highest officials of the state. They “in 2008-2010 committed deliberate actions to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense capacity, state, economic security of Ukraine by providing a foreign state – the Russian Federation and its representative – President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev with the assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine, as well as the seizure of state power, which led to the loss of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the military aggression of the Russian Federation and annexation of the Crimean peninsula “.

The SBU committed to regularly inform the public about the progress of the investigation, given the increased public interest in this case.

Recall that at a meeting of the NSDC last week, they considered the Strategy for the unemployment and reintegration of annexed Crimea, and in this context, the SBU was instructed to study the circumstances of the vote by 236 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. on April 27, 2010, of the Kharkiv agreements on possible treason. These actions, according to the NSDC, laid the foundations for the capture of the peninsula.

The SBU opened a case under the treason article for the preparation, signing and ratification of the Kharkiv accords.
