The Azerbaijani armed forces tried to occupy Armenian positions on Mount Mrav, but were repulsed.
This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Suren Sarumyan, the telegram channel “First of all. Well, almost”.
Let us remind you that earlier the Azerbaijani side was quick to announce that it had reached a strategic height in Karabakh. “As a result of the military operation carried out by our troops in the direction of Goranboy, the Murov hill on the Murov ridge was liberated,” the country’s Defense Ministry said.
The essence of the conflict in Karabakh
In the winter of 1988, the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region announced its secession from the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, as a result of which a conflict broke out. In the course of the armed confrontation in 1992-1994, Azerbaijan lost control of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions. Negotiations on a peaceful settlement have been held since 1992 with the participation of Russia, the United States and France.
As reported, 16 people died on the Armenian side in Karabakh, more than 100 were injured.
