The match between Juventus and Napoli on the third day of Serie A, scheduled for Sunday, 9:45 p.m. Kiev time, did not take place. The reason is the absence of guests. In accordance with competition protocol, the match officials and the receiving team waited 45 minutes for the opponent to appear at the stadium, but the opponent did not appear. As a result, the match was canceled. Now “Napoli” is threatened with a technical defeat.
As we already reported, the reason for the lack of appearance in the Neapolitan club is the prohibition by the local Health Service to leave the region after the detection of two patients with coronavirus: Peter Zelinski and Elif Elmas. In addition, the Health Service ordered 16 players from the team to isolate themselves for two weeks. At the same time, the Serie A board said it was a recommendation, not a ban, and also referred to the agreements reached in the summer with the Italian government, which allow playing when only a few players are infected. Therefore, they refused to postpone the match.
The fight for the result of the match will obviously continue on the pitches of Serie A, the Italian Football Federation and possibly in civilians.
