“Shock therapy” in the form of a replacement head coach did not help Dnipro-1. At least it didn’t help right away. And what could Igor Jovichevich have done in three days as head of the team? As it turned out, practically nothing. Dnipro suffered a major defeat in the away game against Oleksandriya.
Alexandria started out very powerful and aggressive. And he managed to score a goal early, almost in the first attack. Pashayev made a shot from midfield to the corner of the penalty area, Bezborodko (who, by the way, was the first of the season on base) took a pass, easily left Douglas and fired hard under the near post – 1: 0!
Literally three minutes later, Tretyakov was at Bezborodko’s place. He passed Douglas just as easily and fired, but the keeper held the blow and finished off Sitalo. And the hosts’ mentor, Vladimir Sharan, immediately urged his charges to “put pressure on Douglas.” However, the Brazilian obviously knows some of our words. Because he soon “took revenge” on Bezborodko, inflicting a painful blow to the thigh in a game situation. As a result, the scorer of the first goal was forced to leave the field. Then Sharan was forced to make a second substitution: in the 32nd minute, Gordienko was also injured, who was one of the best on the field.
“Dnepr-1” started looking for ways to Bilyk’s door. Even the defenders participated in the attacks. But Dubinchak, for example, only won a yellow card for the simulation. But in the situation of the “mirror” in the guests’ penalty area, the main referee of the match Igor Paskhal (by the way, who passed his 50th match in the Premier League), it seems, did not understand. Replay showed that Batagov did not touch Sitalo, and although he did not pretend, he fell, twisting his leg. However, the referee called a free kick, and from standard Tretyakov sent the ball under the near post – 2: 0. It was Maxim’s 15th goal at UPL!
However, it is not necessary to talk about the injustice of the result. Before the break, Dnipro made a single blow towards the goal: after a flank canopy, Di Franco tried to push his way through with his knee or stomach; it turned out to be mild and inaccurate.
In the second half of the match, the hosts also looked better. And at the end of the hour of the game they took the score to a big one. After a free kick, Banada hit the post, the ball rebounded towards Luchkevich and his powerful shot hit Svatk’s shoulder, from which the ball rebounded into the goal: 3: 0!
A few minutes later, Luchkevich (whose wife, by the way, was on the stadium podium) scored. Valery took the ball into the penalty area and threw a beautiful aerial shot under the far post – 4: 0.
After that, if Oleksandriya did not stop playing (although there were still 20 minutes left), he would stop showing the football that he had played since the start of the match. And the Igor Jovichevich charges finally had a chance to strike. And finally, they gave the first shot on goal: Tsurikov made a cross pass from left to right along the penalty line, and Adamyuk, who joined the attack, fired into the near corner of the goal. It goes without saying that the Alexandria goalkeeper could have played more reliably in this episode. But it turned out that, like his counterpart, he missed the target from the first hit. It is true that this blow occurred already in minute 78.
The hosts mobilized and did not allow the Dnipro-1 players to create any of that, although they tried very hard to avoid defeat. But it so happened that Jovichevich lost the second coaching duel to Sharan. Interestingly, he lost the first one here, in “Nika”. 5 years ago, Karpaty, under his leadership, lost to Oleksandriya with exactly the same score: 1: 4!
Alexandria scored 6 points and climbed to fourth place in the standings. On October 4, the team will visit the Olimpik. Dnipro-1 with one point fell to the penultimate line. On October 3, the Dnipro hosts the Poltava Vorskla.
