The head of the Ministry of Defense held a meeting with the journalist, after which he accepted the position of autonomous adviser.

Journalist Yuri Butusov agreed to become an independent advisor to Defense Minister Andrei Taran for two months. On Sunday December 20, Butusov wrote about this on Facebook after a meeting with the Defense Minister.

According to the journalist, the minister offered him four positions, which “do not influence the Ministry of Defense at all, and do not give access to decision-making”:

  • Head of the Department of Regulatory Support, Methodology and Monitoring of Real Estate and Land of the Ministry of Defense;

  • head of one of the directorates of the military-technical policy department;

  • Head of the Information Policy Directorate;

  • autonomous advisor to the Ministry of Defense on a voluntary basis to highlight the problems of incompetence and corruption in the structures of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“By offering me positions, the minister recognized the objectivity and fairness of my criticisms (regarding the Ministry of Defense – ed.), And I would like him to take into account the position of the ministry in my work and thus help organize the information policy correct, “Butusov said.

Consequently, the journalist agreed to accept the offer to become an independent advisor to the Defense Minister for a period of two months “without salary, without position, without authority.”

“I will not have my own office in the Ministry of Defense, I will not” solve problems “, fix” my people “, I am still a journalist,” Butusov emphasized, adding that after two months he would prepare a final report on the planning problems of defense and development of the Ukrainians. Army.

Recall that previously the Defense Ministry publicly offered Butusov one of the ministerial positions “in the areas in which his professional attention is focused.”

To this, the journalist replied that he was ready to work in the department if he was offered positions that met his requirements. Butusov also said he was waiting for an invitation to the minister and proposals for specific positions.

However, the journalist soon wrote on the social network that he intends to sue the Ministry of Defense after the insults published by the press service of the department.
