In Great Britain tighten restrictions and introduce adaptive quarantine due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the country.

This was announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on October 12, The Guardian reports. He spoke about the three-tier system to deal with the pandemic, which will enter into force on October 14.

In particular, the restrictions include the closure of restaurants, cafes, bars, entertainment and recreation facilities, barber shops and beauty salons.

According to Johnson, the third (highest) tier will affect Liverpool and Merseyside County… Bars and pubs, gyms, swimming pools, casinos and slot machine rooms will be completely closed there.

The second (high) tier will cover Nottinghamshire, East and West Cheshire and the High Peak areas of Derbyshire… The current restrictions will apply there, but will be supplemented by a ban on citizens from gathering with people other than their family members.

The first level (intermediate) will cover most of the UK… The current restrictions will remain on it. There will also be curfew imposed from 22:00 and the prohibition of meetings of more than six people.

The head of government noted that the number of coronavirus cases in the country has quadrupled in the last three weeks. In addition, there are more patients than during the national quarantine.

In addition, the prime minister urged not to count on receiving an effective vaccine against the coronavirus.

“We have to be realistic, there are a lot of chances of getting a vaccine, but we shouldn’t take it for granted,” Johnson explained.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, several European countries introduced new restrictions in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus infection. Some have recently seen a significant increase in the number of new patients.

For example, in Germany citizens will not be able to visit bars and restaurants, and in the Czech Republic they are considering introducing solitary confinement. Poland also went to strengthen quarantine measures.
