Izmir earthquake: there is great destruction, the victims are still unknown

Today, October 30, a powerful earthquake occurred in Turkish Izmir, the city is badly damaged. There is still no data on the victims.

It is reported that the epicenter of the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred in the Seferihisar region at a depth of 11.8 km. The tremors were felt in Istanbul, as well as in the Marmara and Aegean Sea regions.

After the main earthquake, aftershocks of magnitude 4.1, 4.2 and 4.8 were recorded. According to the Izmir authorities, there is still no information on the victims.

According to preliminary information, the earthquake destroyed dozens of buildings in Izmir; people may be under the rubble. It is also reported that after the earthquake, the water level rose on local beaches and the city was covered in a wave.
