The Ministry of Health is outraged by plans to organize a large-scale festival

The Health Minister commented on plans to hold a music festival in Zaporozhye, which will be attended by tens of thousands of people.

The head of the Health Ministry, Maxim Stepanov, was outraged by the intention to hold the Khortytsia Freedom music festival in Zaporozhye and predicted a coronavirus outbreak there. Stepanov said this during a briefing on Tuesday, September 22.

He noted that several tens of thousands of people gathered for the festival.

“I don’t have a single question for the people, I have a question for the organizers. Sorry, but this is just kind of rubbish, what you’re doing. I just don’t have another word,” Stepanov said.

He noted that last week he agreed with city mayors that they will not use quarantine for political purposes before local elections, and will not organize mass events in their cities. However, despite this, these types of events continue to take place in some cities.

“Of course, I will appeal to my colleagues, who are responsible for control measures, in terms of taking appropriate measures, drawing up protocols. Now we will see what will happen in the Zaporozhye region,” he added, noting that after such massive events there will definitely be an increase in the number of COVID-19 patients.

Let us remember that during the last day in Ukraine 2,884 cases of coronavirus were confirmed.

The day before it was reported that only two regions are ready to weaken the restrictions, and Zaporozhye is not among them.
