Zorya Luhansk coach Viktor Skripnik commented on the defeat to England’s Leicester (0: 3) in the first round of the Europa League group stage.

– In principle, I can’t find other words other than gratitude to my team. We play boldly. A class is a class, you cannot get away from it. We played enough for our goal, you could say. Therefore, I am not saying that we are happy with this result. Of course, it’s a shame to lose, I don’t want to, but a lot of good things can be learned from these games. We’ll try. Then we have two games at home: the Portuguese and the Greek. Not only will we rehabilitate, but we will also try to score points to even the situation in the table.

– You played a pretty daring attacking lineup today. Did you regret it while playing?

– No way. We always play like that, we want to play like that. Boys want to play like this. Before the game, I said that I wanted to put the fast guys who create pressure up front, which, in principle, we did. We played well for the same half hour. There was none of that from the opponent’s position. Yes, ball control, solid, high-quality players, but my team looked decent.

– You made a double substitution in attack, these are Gladky and Perovich. Can we say that you already did it all?

– Well, of course, what is the difference between losing 0: 3 or more? I wanted to charge positive, score a goal. And the same experience for young people. I didn’t want to overlook: flying six hours and not playing with Leicester. The boys deserve it, it also plays an important role. I say again: whoever went to the field and was in the field, seemed worthy. We are happy with them.
