Defender of Ghent Igor Plastun shared his expectations for the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kiev, which will take place on September 29 in Kiev:

– Ukrainian media wrote that the result of the first match with «Dynamo» made by Ukrainian players. How did the team react to this and what are your tasks for tomorrow’s fight?

– The last game is history. Of course, if they ever tried to say something on the team about Bezus and Yaremchuk, it was joking. This is football, everything happens in him. We talked a lot with the guys before the draw, that it would be great if the three of them returned to Kiev, but now I flew alone. Tomorrow, if I go out on the pitch, I will do my best to advance to the group stage of the Champions League. In recent years, we have not had that opportunity that often.

– Why did many fans shout Cosemans name when «Ghent» went to the airport?

– Cosemans is our doorman. I did not observe whom there is an affectionate fan. Maybe they liked it more.

– Defeat of «Dynamo» And in the last game of the championship, does it affect the morale of your team?

– Any defeat hits pride and confidence. This is a normal process for players. But the more upper-class footballers differ in that they have to quickly forget what happened yesterday or the day before in order to concentrate on the next game. We know what tomorrow is at stake. We also talked after the game with Dynamo and after the game with Leuven. We discuss everything among ourselves. Our thoughts are only about today and the future. Today we are trying to change what happened in the past in training and, above all, in our head.

– You played against many high class players like Cavani. Will this experience help you in tomorrow’s game?

– I don’t like talking about the past. Any experience makes you stronger. It is good to have a European luggage that helps me. But tomorrow is a completely different story, ambitions and tasks. Concentration only on Dynamo. I am sure that the experience of our players will help us to cope with the excitement that was present in the first 20-30 minutes of the match in Ghent.

– After being defeated by «Levena» amateurs «Ghent» he started whistling, and showed some kind of gesture. What did he mean?

– After the game with Leven, we realized that we had lost. Psychologically it was very difficult for us. We were supposed to win, we were much better than the rival, but in football everything happens. As for the emotions, when you are on the field, you would like the fans to understand. The fans whistled a lot after that game, so there was little emotional reaction. With my gesture I asked them: who, if not you, can support us in difficult times. I think that in such a difficult situation our fans can get our team out. They won’t be in Kiev, but when we get back to the level we should be, we’ll share the joy together.
