The story of the fight between Atalanta leader Alejandro Gómez and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini turned out to be true, according to Italian media reports. But the coach is not going to leave his post, but Gómez, although he played in the Champions League with Ajax, saw the game with Fiorentina from the bench. Also, according to the source, the Argentine will definitely not start the match against Juventus from the beginning. On his Instagram, the midfielder, who made his mark in Ukraine, where he defended the Metalist colors, promised that he would reveal the details of the conflict, but only after he left Atalanta. And this, most likely, will happen already in the next transfer window.

At the same time, according to the main Italian sports publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, the reason for the fight that took place during the break in the Champions League match with Midtjylland was an instruction from the coach to play Gómez on the right, and not move to the center.

By the way, the calls to the Argentine team could have left their mark on Gómez’s physical form (for the first time in the last three years). In 40 days, the player flew to South America twice and practically 20 days of training is not at all as Gasperini requires. According to Gian Piero, now Gómez does not have enough strength to play as he is used to: on the field. Gasperini did not dare to put it in reserve, but decided to use it in a different way: closer to someone else’s doors, which limits freedom of action. Gomez didn’t like the idea, he and the coach discussed it out loud many times, until the boiling point reached the limit and it turned into a fight.
