The dispute between the relatives of the Ukrainian Oleg Prikhodko, accused by the Russian authorities of preparing terrorist attacks, and his neighbors took place in November 2020.
In the conflict between members of the family of Crimean resident Oleg Prikhodko, who is on trial in Russia for planning terrorist attacks, and his neighbors, only Prikhodko’s nephew was seriously injured. Natalya Prikhodko, daughter of a political prisoner, reported this to the “Karati” newspaper.
The woman clarified that the conflict occurred in November last year. According to Natalya Prikhodko, neighbors have long tried to get them out of the village in connection with a high-profile criminal case against her father. In November, another verbal skirmish took place.
“They called us and said that they would survive us from home and that we would go after dad,” Natalia quotes the publication.
Then the neighbors beat Natalia several times, pushed her mother Lyubov Prikhodko, and Alexander, Oleg Prikhodko’s nephew, received a concussion as a result of the attack. Prikhodko called the police, who opened a case about the imposition of moderate beatings on Alexander. At the end of the year, he was transferred to the “Saksky District Court” of occupied Crimea.
On January 3, Svoboda party leader Oleg Tyagnibok said that unknown persons had attacked Prikhodko’s mother and daughter. According to him, the women were “severely beaten for supporting Oleg.”
Pro-Ukrainian activist Prikhodko was detained by the FSB in annexed Crimea on October 10, 2019. The man is charged with preparing to commit a terrorist act, acquiring and storing explosive substances and manufacturing explosive substances. The activist said that he was far from all the crimes against him, noted that he only expressed his opinion and remained a patriot of Ukraine.
In early April 2020, Prikhodko was transferred from Simferopol remand prison to SIZO-1 in Rostov-on-Don.
On May 28, the court began considering Prikhodko’s criminal case on the merits. On September 7, the arrest of the Ukrainian activist was extended for another three months. The Moscow region court rejected the appeal to extend the restraint measure, Prikhodko at this meeting reminded the judges of the illegal annexation of Crimea.
In November, the Ombudsman of Ukraine, Lyudmila Denisova, reported that the health of Prikhodko, 62, had seriously deteriorated. In the Russian prison, according to her, her kept in a narrow and poorly lit cell, without adequate ventilation, in totally unsanitary conditions: there are rats, cockroaches and other insects.
The Russian prosecution demands 11 years in prison for Prikhodko.
