President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decree No. 420/2020 “On some measures to involve entrepreneurs, highly qualified specialists who are citizens of the Republic of Belarus.” The document should contribute to the development of Ukraine’s investment potential.
The corresponding decree was published on the president’s website.
According to the decree, the government should extend up to 180 days for one year the period of temporary stay in Ukraine for Belarusian IT specialists, whose immigration is in the interest of Ukraine, and their families.
The government also intends to introduce a pilot project on the simplified registration of residence permits for these categories of Belarusians. According to the decree, it is necessary to improve the procedure for registering Belarusian IT specialists as individual entrepreneurs – sole contributors.

The government should also launch an information portal to provide advice to Belarusian citizens emigrating to Ukraine.
“The document will contribute to the development of investment potential of Ukraine and the attraction of highly qualified IT specialists and innovators,” the message reads.
The decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Recall that in early September, Zelensky ordered the government to draw up bills aimed at developing the information technology industry in Ukraine. Documents must be submitted for examination by the Verkhovna Rada within three months.
Also RBC-Ukraine wrote that a law was introduced in the Rada to stimulate the development of information technology.
