Lukashenka calls the US elections “a shame” (Photo: Belta)
Alexander Lukashenko, during the inauguration of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, harshly commented on the US presidential elections and compared US democracy with Belarusian democracy.
Belta reports.
“The bulwark of democracy … Look what is happening with these elections (In the USA). This is a shame, a mockery of this democracy ”, the dictator stressed.
Lukashenko also said that Belarus is accused of failing to comply with international democratic standards, when in reality there are no such international standards.
“Together with the Russians in the OSCE, we proposed to develop these international standards to be for all OSCE members. They rejected it completely. And today they are demanding us, ”he said.
Lukashenko is also interested in the reaction of the OSCE and the German parliament to the delay in the counting of votes in the United States.
«Let’s see how the OSCE will react to this and how the German parliament, as I said yesterday, will demand re-elections in the United States. And there already today it is necessary to demand repeated elections. Because everything was violated there, including internal legislation. It’s very interesting how the Germans, the French, the super-democrats, the Anglo-Saxons and others will demand re-elections, ”he said.
And after that, Lukashenka added that they wouldn’t demand it, because «they will be afraid. “
“But what a shame, what a humiliation of the Americans … It was necessary to practice in order to create,” said the dictator.
In his opinion, such a situation in the United States allows us to see Belarus in comparison.
Thank goodness our protesters and others will understand. There’s something to compare to, ”Lukashenka commented.
Summing up his speech, the dictator added:
“Next week we will see this comedy at the finish line. This is already a comedy and a disgrace for the entire democracy. And it is good that this happened, that we saw the essence of this democracy. This is charlatanism. Only the strong and those who can stand their ground are respected in the world. We will stand. “
We will remember, in the United States, summarizing the results of the general elections of November 3, in which Americans elected president and vice president, 435 members of the House of Representatives, 35 Senate legislators and 13 governors of states and territories.
The vote count is in the final stage. Nevada is now counting the votes for the presidential election (6 electoral votes), North Carolina (fifteen votes), Georgia (sixteen votes), Arizona (eleven votes), Pennsylvania (twenty votes) and in Alaska (3 vote). Trump continues to lead in Alaska and North Carolina, which together could bring him 18 electoral votes. However, these votes will not be enough for the head of the White House to win. Trump, who has garnered 214 electoral votes so far, will not be able to muster the 270 votes needed for reelection without winning Georgia and Pennsylvania.
