In Israel, one of the largest retail chains, “Rami Levi”, will stop importing Coca-Cola in 1.5-liter bottles from Ukraine, as it is not in demand among consumers. Buyers complain that the drink tastes different from the local one, and thus the Ukrainian language on the labels has become an indicator of its lower quality.
“Vesti Israel” writes about this with reference to Ynet.
“We will stop ordering 1.5-liter bottles of Ukrainian Coca-Cola. Until now, there are stocks in stores, but in the future we will not order this drink in large containers,” said Yossi Sabato, deputy director of Rami Levi.
At the same time, the chain will continue to sell Ukrainian Coca-Cola in 0.33-liter cans. This decision is due to frequent complaints from customers that the taste of the Ukrainian drink is inferior to that of the Israeli-made Coca-Cola. Ukrainian Coca-Cola is much cheaper than Israeli, but sometimes this is a disadvantage.
“Coca-Cola is put on the table when guests come and someone may not like that the owners bought cheaper imported soft drinks instead of Israeli soft drinks,” the message says.
The Israeli chain began buying Ukrainian Coca-Cola after the Chief Rabbinate made it easy for several popular foods and beverages imported by Israel to be kosher a few months ago.
Due to the low price of the imported Ukrainian drink, Coca Cola Israel has launched a series of promotions to defend its position in this market segment.
“The parallel importation of Coca-Cola is not a new phenomenon, it is already several years old. But only when we started selling Ukrainian Coca-Cola did the market really start to move, the local producer lowered prices. The buyer remained the winner . That’s what we fight for. “, – said Yosi Sabato.
Let us remember that in 2018 Coca-Cola launched an alcoholic beverage for the first time in history.
We also write that Coca-Cola intends to launch a marijuana drink.
