Israel still does not approve the vaccine used in Ukraine
Negotiations between Ukraine and Israel on mutual recognition of vaccination passports for tourist travel are continuing, the ambassador noted.
The authorities of the COVID vaccination leader Israel do not plan to approve the Indian-made drug Covishield, in relation to which Ukraine may have problems with the mutual recognition of vaccination passports. This was stated by the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevgeniy Korneichuk, on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24 on Monday, March 8.
According to the diplomat, the first negotiations with the Israeli side on this issue took place the day before, but were not crowned with success.
“Today (March 8 – ed.) There were negotiations on the mutual recognition of so-called vaccination passports. We still have problems with this, as Israel is not going to approve the vaccines used by the Ukrainian government,” Korniychuk said.
The diplomat recalled that Israel has a high level of COVID vaccination. Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna drugs are offered to residents of the country.
At the same time, Korneichuk clarified that the work of the two countries on the issue of mutual recognition of vaccination passports for tourist travel continues and a decision will be made in the near future.
Recall, since the beginning of the campaign to immunize the population against the coronavirus in Ukraine, 17,947 people have received vaccines with Covishield (AstraZeneca of Indian production).
